This has been coming for some time, basically ever since the original posters left. The Local was what it said it was in the early days "Swedish news in English". However the greedy Savage wanted people pay for his time to use a translator, something anyone can do. Yes there where overheads such as the web domain itself, but anyone can get one of these for about 500kr per year. So the ads more than covered this.
The Local always avoided real news so you had to use a translator on an original source to find that out.
Savages appearances on TV are also a joke where he makes a fool of himself (my wife, who is Swedish laughs at him every time he comes on TV), as he does not represent any over Brits.
The forum has been fun over the years (the only reason anyone used The Local). I have read some fun and interesting topics over the years but now it is coming to an end. I think if the forum dies, it wont be long before The Local itself does. I feel sorry for any of the old timers who like to look in now and again, but most of all for Gamla who has stayed with it thick or thin.

Maddy Savage's BBC work, entertaining(for the wrong reasons), the sort of stuff someone could have done 20 years ago after reading a lonely planet book and never even been to sweden. But those in the uk who don't know better lap it up.

The Local never did anything on this site. We the members deleted all the spams. Savage is an idiot that seems to be an expert on Sweden and the UK. I can't stand watching him on TV. A gay Woody Allan. I can guarantee that their next comment site most people will be deleted unless you support BLM, gay right or are a left wing twat.RIP this once great side and let's hope TL go bankrupt
