I can believe it. It is an incredibly specific request. I for one have never even heard of those places, let alone have details of the local areas hairdressers specialties. |

I was thinking of going to hairstyling school... maybe learning this and opening a shop in sweden is a good idea... There is a gold mine for black hair stylist :-)

i cant believe no one know of any hairdresser in Hedemora or Borlange who can do a Black Woman hair!... Like others have said, it's no surprise at all that no one has replied. You're asking for something very exotic in a VERY non-exotic area in Sweden. Your best bet is probably to travel down to Stockholm if you want someone specialized in black hair. |

You are talking about a rural area and a faily specific request - Hedemora only has 11,000 residents in the entire kommun!
My advice would be to call som local hairdressers and see if they can give you any tips - often specialist hairdressers in this area do not always have shops but operate as mobile hairdressers from their own homes or come to clients homes. Another option is that you could call the hairdressing school in Falun to see if they can recommend anyone - it's based at Haraldsbogymnasiet http://www.falun.se/www/falun/skola/hantve...nt&Expand=7 You may find however that you have to travle till a larger city to find the specialist that you are after - so look around at Uppsala, Västerås, Gävle and even Stockholm which is only 2 hours from Hedemora. |

Does it really matter what colour your hair is?
I suppose I'm out of touch with these things but I didnt know that hairdressers specialised in Blonde, Brunette or Black hair! You live and learn... Oh and woman hair? Is that like a bikini wax?... |

Thanks for reviving this topic but as you can all see my post was from December!! I have been living in sweden since then and have learned to adapt. at sfi i met several women African women who said they are hair stylist. i have not used any because they cant do what i want, so on advice from a Jamaican friend who lives in Stockholm for many years and had the same problem, i have learned to do my own hair. my hairstylist in Jamaica has also been a great help with advice on what hair products to use. so im not having hair problems anymore.

Hi,
If your hair is natural and you want natural products, I would recommend www.nexrastore.com. I get Oyin Handmade from them and it's really fast. Good luck! |

Finally I have found a black hairdresser in Sweden outside of Stockholm. Patricia and her team did a GREAT job! Such a warm welcome too! Looking forward to my next visit!
