OpenHack is back in Gothenburg! From the 24th-26th, our event will be hosted by Sigma Technology at their office in Lindholmen.

You might be wondering, what is a hackathon? Does it cost to participate? Do I need to have programming experience?

You can check out our website to find the answers to all of these questions and more!
(Just a note, our event is free and you don't need to be a programmer to participate. Just sign up!)

Openhack is a collaborative community where ideas and knowledge are being exchanged in order to solve humanitarian challenges through open source development. Our hackathons serve as the foundation of our community where physical meetings take place and innovations are sparked to life. This is where we bring tech volunteers, aid organizations, social actors, and sponsors together in the same building to work together.

Since Openhack was first founded in 2015 as a non-profit project under Engineers Without Borders we so far have organized nine humanitarian hackathons, each with over 100 registered participants from all over Sweden. We have collaborated with over 25 humanitarian organisations and worked on over 50 challenges

Why should I participate in this? Last time I interacted with SIGMA (job application) they treated me like pure garbage. Made me wait 2 months for an interview, then the person interviewing me had to handle a "personal matter" for 20 minutes during the interview, told me a bunch of lies about the company and then ended it all 2 days later by out of the blue realizing that their quota for juniors was going to be filled in 4 months so they couldn't hire any more juniors at the moment. F all that I am going to give Sigma anything for free.
