Dear All:

I am a Syrian, and I just ran away from Syria with my Wife, we are on a visit visa for 1 month in Qatar, and it seems that we wont have any other place to move to after this visa expire and we are looking for a safer place for us. We've heard a lot of stories about moving to Europe and specifically Sweden but we are not sure to how to do it. it is risky and we've been through a lot of scary time while trying to escape from my home country Syria and my wife is already not feeling well because of the hard times that we had and I am not ready to make her go through another hard time while moving to Europe.

I need your help with information about the best way to move to Europe away from the bloody war which we suffered from, We've lost a lot during the last 2 years and we are really seeking peace somewhere in this world.

I hope you can help us with anything please, any advice about our case will be great for us but please make sure it is right.

Thanks in advance
Best Regard

Khaldoun CG

If you need to move out quickly, focus on all Europe. Don't waste time just focusing on one country. This is my suggestion.
If I was in you I would also consider countries that are growing now. Why not China for example? Or India maybe. I don't know anything about their immigration policy but if escaping from the war is your first goal I would consider everything that can be an improvement.

You are right that I should not focus only on one country and also that being anywhere away from the war is an improvement but I am moving out of my country because I am seeking a safer place where I can get stability in general including financial stability and also a good future for my kids.

China & India are not in my plan because they are suffering from the number of population and low salaries and the quality of life out there is not as good as Europe and America. If I was alone without a family that I am taking care of I would go anywhere but now I am responsible for any decisions I take cause it wont effect me only but it will effect my family members who trusted on me.

Thanks a lot for giving your time to advice me, please pray for us.

I think you'll be quite fine staying in the middle east. We don't need more arab freeloaders in Europe. Take your begging elsewhere... wink.gif

If you want answers you should be more specific. What information or help do you want? Just asking about general info on seeking asylum in Europe or anywhere won`t get you far. If you want my general advice then I`d say that you should turn to a country near your homecountry so it`s easier to for you to return back to your home. Flee to a country where there is a similare way of life, culture, values, language or history like the country you come from. Runing away to the other side of the world where you have no idea about the way of life, views, norms, values, language and so on will only make it harder for yourself.

Thanks Mark for your kindness, I do understand your point of view and I respect it. but I wish that you will not be in my place one day in this life, and I wish that you and your family stay living in peace.

Dear Migga:

You are right that I need to be more specific when it comes to expecting answers for the question that I have, the problem is that I don't know the situation out there and any type of info will be good for me.

And regarding staying in the middle east countries, I will be honest with you guys, we don't feel secure in here, and this is because of my religion which is not accepted by the society in these countries. Syria is becoming a new Iraq, sadly people killing each other for their beliefs, my place where I came from is half destroyed and I can not see any hope of going back there. I hope that none of you experience the same feelings and situation that we are living.

I am not begging anyone to provide me with money or free housing or to share their food with me, I am a business man and I don't need any financial help from anyone, I am just seeking a safer place for me & my family but after the comments that I received from all of you it seems that Swedish people are not happy with seeing us coming to their countries.

Thanks all

I never said you were begging and it`s a shame if you got the idea from my comment that Swedish people are not happy to let real refugees in. I`d say Sweden and Swedes would be more then happy to let real refugees stay untill their country is safe again so they can return. I gave my general advice and if you don`t have any specific questions I can`t help but to suggest that you find your own answers;

Dear Khaldoun,

Undoubtedly, What's going on n Syria is VERY sad, and I wish you, your family, and your loved ones well.

As I quoted above that that you are a business man and you do not need any money or free housing, and all you need is a safe place to live in.

Well, Why are you thinking of Europe?
This is totally illogical.

What about Jordan?
It is one of the safest countries in the whole region + You can get in easily WITHOUT any question at the border AT ALL + If you don't wanna live in the free camps that Jordan made for the refugees and you can afford a better place, then, YOU CAN go and rent any place (Villa or a BIG house) in any high class area in the capital Amman.

Khaldoun, Sorry because you were born Syrian and you had to suffer. But Sweden or people here on this forum couldn't care less.

There is no need for you to think about Sweden as an option, Because this is VERY wrong.

Wish you the best of luck Khaldoun !

Dear Learner2011:

I believe that you need to go through what I wrote earlier to get at least 50% of the situation. when I left Syria and before reaching my final destination I've been to many countries and Jordan was one of them, and before you give your suggestions I think you need to see the reality not only to ready about the country online.

Jordan is a danger place for Syrian people whether they are in the camps or in the city renting an apartment. actually I am an Arab and I feel shame to be one of them for a simple reason which is treating each other depending on our religions and backgrounds. and this what happened to us, and now I found out that not only Arabs are having this mentality cause you also do but I don't want to generalize.

Listen Dear, I was thinking seriously to move to Sweden but after seeing your comments (I dont mean Migga) I think that you won man and I cant think anymore about moving my family again to a place where people hate us and this is really shameful.

Syria in fact is having crisis these days, but one day hopefully will get better and we will go back to our homeland, and I hope that nothing sad will happen to your country (Sweden) but if that happened feel free to come to Syria where our people will welcome you not for temp visit but even for permanent stay and this is what we used to do with Iraqi, Somalian, Palastiniane and Lebanies.

Thanks again for everything
