Better still just search for proxy servers, or best proxy server and see which ones are any good.

I use a UK VPN for this purpose in Sweden. You select UK or US server depending on watching either BBC iPlayer or HULU. It also works for the ITV Player from England which has a lot of good TV on it.

Sorry for bringing up an old topic. Anyone use smart dns for BBC iPlayer on smart TV?

I haven't used iPlayer for about a year but I noticed that the player only checked your location at the start of the stream. Due to this I was just using a free VPN with limited bandwidth and as soon as the video started I could just disconnect the VPN and carry on watching.

This might have changed by now though but worth a try as you only need the VPN for logging in and starting a video.
