I've tried epicurious too, but find it rather US-centric i.e. ingredients required and quantities etc. Had trouble with availability as it often gives ingredients in US brands which is not necessarily easy for someone not from there to follow...
Having said that, they do have some nice recipes.

Looking forward to the beer batter recipe Mooney.

I make a seasoned mix of flour, breadcrumbs, salt pepper, chile, and krydmix seasoning. I have a big jar ready made up. It almost forms a batter with the wet pangasius.

You realise that Pangasius is simply Cat fish. They farm it in Vietnam.

All good - just so long as there's no cats involved ...

BEER BATTER FOR FISH & ONION RINGS

1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
1 c. cold beer
3 eggs

Slightly beat the eggs in medium mixing bowl. Add remaining ingredients. Blend well with electric mixer. Use immediately to batter fish or onion rings for frying.

This recipe is from cooks.com

The trick with this recipe is to beat it until it's frothy. Then the batter fries beautifully flyffy and crisp

I recommend Bishops Tipple for the batter, and to wash it all down with as well ...

Yes, we can buy several of the English Ales in our local supermarket (though in a 3.5% version) and they all work fine.

One of my recent discoveries has been just how quick and easy stir fry veggie noodles are. First arm yourself with a pack of dehydrated egg noodles (?ggnuddlar) from ICA or Willys and a frozen bag of Wok gr?nsaker from ICA. Also stock up on some basic Asian bottled sauces - soy sauce, oyster sauce (Willys sell a big bottle fairly cheap) and sesame oil.

You can literally have this in a bowl ready to eat 20 mins after getting up from the sofa and heading to the kitchen. Use an add-and-weigh digital scale to make the stir fry sauce just adding each ingredient then press zero then add the next. Super quick.

Ingredients

2 portions dried egg noodles
300g frozen wokgr?nsaker, straight from the freezer bag.
Oil for frying
--- sauce ingredients below - prepare and mix in a mug or small jug ----
100g water
20g light soy sauce (kinesisk soyas?s)
10g dark soy (japansk soyas?s)
20g oyster sauce
10g shaoxing Chinese cooking wine (optional - only if you have it)
1 level teaspoon sesame oil
1/3 vegetable stock cube
1 level tablespoon sugar
2 level teaspoon cornflour (add at last minute)

Directions:
- Soak the egg noodles in boiling water for 5 mins then drain the water and set noodles aside.
- make the stir fry sauce while noodles are soaking. All the remaining ingredients after the noodles and vegetables in the list above are for the sauce, just add them to a mug and add the cornflour last just before you need it and stir to dissolve it as best you can. It will probably clump a little, it's ok.
- heat a little oil in a wok or 22cm frying pan and sizzle the noodles a little to warm them through and get a little colour (not much). After frying for 3 mins add a little bit of stir fry sauce and fry a little more, then set aside the noodles into a bowl.
- fry the wokgr?nsaker (vegetables) in a little oil just to melt them a little, then add the remaining stir fry sauce and boil it for a couple of mins to allow the cornflour to thicken the sauce, then pour the vegetables & sauce over the top of the noodles in the bowl.
- if you want to "get fancy" you can in addition to above chop and fry some ginger and garlic before frying the vegetables, or add some chunky cut onions. Fry these onions on their own on high heat and add on top of the noodles before adding the veggies & sauce.
