Do the transaction at the police station.

Absolutely do not accept cash.

Have the buyer take you to their bank, and there, have the buyer have the bank directly transfer the money to your account at your bank. Get a cashier receipt as well. Do the rest of the Del2 stuff in the bank (signatures etc), and you, the seller, go and take that signed Del2 directly to the post box yourself (bring a postage stamp with you). Within 5 days or so, you should see the transfer of ownership completed.

Under no circumstances should you allow the buyer to take Del2 to a post-box without you (you should actually do it together in fact). Since if the buyer doesn't immediately post it, and say, gets in an accident, it will be in your name, not theirs.

Been there, done that.

Weird replies so far! I've bought and sold 3 cars in sweden and if anyone I bought a car from insisted I take them to my bank then for sure I'd have been buying a different car!

Just get them to do an online funds transfer and keep hold of the form until you've received the money. They can have a receipt signed by you so they have something to hold until their money arrives with you. Blocket have a sales contract you can print from their website, or just hand write something.

Last time I bought a car the seller only wanted to see my online banking transaction completed in front of him (obviously without me letting him see my bankID number). Then he gave me the car. Bit silly on his part really as I checked afterwards and could see that my bank provided me the option to cancel the transaction and as it was a Sunday the funds would not actually move until the following day.
