Have you been to Sweden? It will take more than just a year to learn Swedish laugh.gif a little bit delusional.... And you cant get a residence permit based on studying Swedish. laugh.gif . Do your research.

I have been there 3 weeks around Malmo, Lund, Gothenburg and Stockholm. It was just a visit though to check universities and meet few business consultants.

I am getting quite confused for sure. I couldn't really find something that strictly says that a residency permit is not possible, thus I am asking.
could you link me to any reference?

Forget the swedish study residence permit route. It's not just any study that is eligible for student residence permit. Since your intention is to start a business here, start exploring the self-employed route. You shouldn't need swedish language to be eligible for that.

Start your research here:

That's the general feeling most people seem to get when dealing with Sweden. Are you an EU citizen? Because theirs different rules for EU citizens. As far as I know, if you are, you have the right to live and work here. I knew two Germans at SFI that sold stuff online and the husband was an consultant. It was enough to be classified as having a business.

Thank your for the the info.

The main issue with pursuing a self-employment permit is the decision time, which as per some lawyers I've been in contact with is 9 - 18 months. giving my current situation a 6 months decision time is my far maximum. I know it is not the ideal plan but as mention the idea was to work out my business plan and submit it during the time of language studies.

As I quote from the migration sverket website:
"Courses where a residence permit normally is not granted for longer than one year:
Pupil exchange at an upper secondary school
Religious studies
Supplementary courses for authorisation to work within a profession that requires certification
Preparatory courses for authorisation to take a course of higher education
Language courses."

which kind of indicated to me that the plan could be possible.

here's the link:

If i understood what's written in this page in a wrong way, then I'd appreciate if you could point it out. Thank you once again.
