I am thinking of having an alternative to turkey for Christmas, I am feed up of endless turkey leftover dinners. Anybody got any great ideas? |

I thought you were still ploughing through that 50lb of left over turkey. Enough to last you for Christmas and loads more until next thanksgiving. I was thinking of venison, but my usual supplier said that during last weekends hunt, Rudolf managed to get away yet again.

There was a Chinese chef on BBC 1 this afternoon who did quail. Looked good but you would need one for every person and 2 for my son!!!

Last night i had chicken again but this time i mixed 500g creme fraiche, broccoli (already boiled), grated cheddar cheese, salt and white pepper. I then poured it over the chichen breast fillets and in the oven. Served with jacket potatoes. It's really nice.
ps if you are a vegetarian then it's great with quorn fillets. |

Today the sambo is away so I can't be bothered cooking properly - falukorv, lingonsylt and a cup of tea makes a girl happy
 Perhaps later I'll go mad with a chicken breast, a tomato and some creme fraiche. |

The missus is out to her monthly knitting meeting so it it is leftover veg curry from the freezer with home made chapatti rice and lashings of lime pickle. All washed down with a bottle or 2 of Newcastle Brown Ale.

I have been watching James Martins Christmas Kitchen this week. Getting some good ideas for festive food. An alternative to Roast Turkey could be a flattened breast of turkey filled with stuffing, rolled and wrapped in cling film and steamed. Or filet of venison. This could be a bit on the expensive side though at around 450kr per kilo
