Happy New year One & All,
I hope your all staying true to your resolutions and feel inspired for the new decade ahead! My name is Scott, and I moved over from London back in October with my girlfriend. I have been playing guitar for over 15 years, and have worked in the music retail/distribution industry for almost 10 years, focused on guitars, most recently with Yamaha Music UK. I have previous private teaching experience in the UK and am looking to establish a student network in Stockholm. I teach beginner to intermediate level and do half hour or hour lessons in English. The first lesson is free and acts as an introduction to asses your level (if any) and to set out the lesson plan for the following sessions to suit individual needs e.g how many lessons to start, days & times, lesson breakdown etc. Think of it as a meet and greet. I learned how to play the guitar for fun, and play for that reason, but have also studied music at higher education level. My idea is to make learning to play a joy and not a struggle, we'll take it at your pace, and as well as concentrating on technique, learn how to play what YOU want to play, if thats The Stones & Beetles or Metallica & Guns'n'Roses, The Killers & Kings of Leon or Johnny Cash, we can work it out! Lessons will be taught at your home (or work if your boss is that cool!) I am taking bookings now for late January, for further info information just email me at: [email protected] Have a fabulous day whatever your doing! Scott |

This is really great.
![]() ![]() Which means I have my own private guitar teacher. I love that, because I find playing guitar so difficult, yet he's taught 4 year olds to play. Oh my! Where there is a will, there is a way, and he is my way. But anyway, this is a nice thread, had me thinking of him, he wants to teach here, too. Well, good luck with what you're doing. |

Be careful when taking free guitar lessons, as there is always strings attached. |

Just a moot point - why did the op need to post this 3 times with differing titles - does he think we have a short attention span on here ?
Oh, and what was the subject again ? zzz |

What's up Johno? The Grinch attitude too charitable for you this Christmas?
This guy is making a honest and friendly attempt to get by in a country beset by employment difficulties. So please bear in mind that as a UK resident who pops over here now and again to stock up on colostomy bag quotas, it is not your job to mock. |

QUOTE it is not your job to mock Free world old bean. Just a bit overkill to send three out the same at 2 minute intervals. And the Local strictly doesnt allow advertising in that manner(Rules 3c and 3f), but then following rules and moderation are now absent and the place needs livening up ![]() |

Hello all,
Byke, no strings, the first lesson is a meet and greet, to run through some basics and to see if student and teacher are on the same page and want to go ahead with future lessons which cost of course, hence 'the first lesson is free'. This is a tried and tested method back in London with many resectable teachers, and as I see it is as fair as can possibly be! If it doesn't feel right, and its just gotta feel right, then the only cost was my travel, there is no obligation. So I hope that clears that one up. Johno, the reason I put it up on different threads is simply to market the idea better, get more views, and hopefully more replies, leading to more students, so I can ultimately take over Stockholm with my guitar army. Different people look at different topics, no intention to insult attention spans, it just seemed an obvious thing to do! Thanks for looking, have a fantastic evening! |

Thanks for the tip Swozz, although I think I have already done that, it just takes a day or two to be put up. However any hints or tips are always welcome, as I have never had the time to use forums or notice boards online, and it seems we have some experts on this one!
Update on lessons. I gave my first lesson today in the Odenplan area and it went very well, with the student confident we can work together and therefore he not only booked a follow up lesson, but a course of 10. Keep smiling, stay happy. |

If you could find other musical teachers (such as bongo teachers) to work alongside with you it could be a good way to drum up business.
