Hello all,

first of all wish you guys Happy New Year. I have a question regarding the status of Long time resident in another eu-country and transferring it in Sweden. I read from MV website:

"If you have previously held long-term resident status in another EU country and now fulfil the requirements for long-term resident status in Sweden, you may apply to transfer the status from the other country to Sweden. Contact the Swedish Migration Agency if you have any questions about how to apply to transfer your status."

Do you guys know which are the steps to follow and which are the forms to fill in? I have tried to reach out to MV but no answer from them so far.

Thanks

Migrationsverket is not exactly the best at translation into English, you should look at EU Directives to understand.
Long Term residence status, if you can prove you have it for an EU Member State, just means that you are entitled to the same Freedom of Movement and Rights of Residence regulations as EU Citizens. This means that you can move between Member States and stay in any member state for 3 months with no requirements, and to stay after 90 days you must meet the requirements of being either a worker, student or person of own means. Read this about what to do:

My question is another; might be that I set it wrong. I live in Sweden as a Long time resident of another eu country (in my case Spain) for the last 4 and 8 month. I would like to transfer that status to the swedish one. I am just wondering how to do that, I don't undertand which form to fill. And when, my first residency permit was issued on April 2012 for 6 months due to the trial period and then for 5 years.
