Hi,
I've read some posts with similar information in this forum but didn't found exactly what I need. I've applied for a personal number (I am moving to Stockholm due to work, with a permanent contract). Skatteverket told me that processing the application could take from weeks to months, depending on the case. My question is, as a UE citizen and having a blue health card, can I get an appointmet with a doctor if I get sick? I'm not speaking of emergencies, just a regular appointment with a doctor. If so, there's any hospitals/centers in Lidingo or nearby (Stockholm center) where I could go? I don't mind it's paying, I just want to make sure I can receive health care attention if needed. I have a health condition and sometimes I need to check up things with a doctor. Thanks in advance! |

Do you mean EU citizen? Get an EU medical card from your country of origin before you leave. It should be valid for up to a year here. Just do a search for V?rdcentral Liding? and you should get some results. You will have to pay, we all do, but it is about 150kr per visit unless it's a specialist then it is 300kr. In theory you should be able to register at any v?rdcentral and not just the one nearest to you. So if you work in central Stockholm you can register at one there. You will need to register with F?rs?kringskassan ASAP to be inside the health system. Skatteverket won't do this for you and just paying tax isn't enough. Unless the system has changed, which is possible since I moved here. |

Forget the doctor part, weeks to months to get a PN?! As a EU citizen WITH a permanent contract in Sweden? Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.... When I went to Sweden years ago I walked into the nearest Skatteverket branch with my passport and my contract and I walked out with a PN. In under 15 minutes... It is quite disturbing that it actually takes that long nowadays... The only ones that I knew last year had that problem were people from the UK, due to Brexit, I thought that that was it.... |

Me too but these days it can be months to get a PN. Then again when I moved here you could get a dentist or doctor's appointment within a week and now it's 5-6 months to register with a new one. But then the population has increased by 2 million in that time so infrastructure hasn't kept up. |
