Where to give away candy gift bags?

Organizations, hospitals, schools, etc.?

Hello! biggrin.gif This is my first post here, so I hope I've put it in the right place. I'm planning on making a bunch of cute little Halloween candy gift bags this year, but there's not a lot of children that stop by our apartments to trick-or-treat. I was wondering if anyone knew of a place or organization that would appreciate these gift bags? In the U.S. (where I'm from) around the holidays there would often be several organizations that would take gift donations instead of just money, and they would hand them out to children who either were in unfortunate situations or were from a poor family. Here in Sweden, it doesn't seem to be as necessary I guess to have those kinds of groups, since the social welfare network in place is better than the ones where I lived!

I'm glad for that, but still, my heart is calling biggrin.gif I used to give out small gifts and candies all the time in the U.S., and I miss it! So does anyone know an organization that would be willing to accept this type of gift, or if any hospitals, schools, etc. are open to this idea? I would love to give these to hospital or clinic staffs (or patients), veterinarian clinics, or children groups, something like that smile.gif just to say thank you or to brighten their holiday. I really hope someone can offer some guidance on who/where/and how to go about this!

Thankfully the commercial $hit of Halloween hasn't spread quite so heavily in sweden. They probably still sell more candles for all saints (all Hallows day) than pumpkins, which is the original celebration.

A charity or organisation would likely prefer your time or money to chocolate.

Oh, I quite enjoy Halloween, and candy- it's one of my favorite times of the year! laugh.gif I am sadly aware that Halloween isn't nearly as celebrated here than in the states, but I was just hoping to spread some smiles, particularly to people who might need an extra thanks in their line of work, especially in this year of all years smile.gif I do donate money to different organizations as much as I can (I love Stockholms Katthem and the work that they do, for instance!), I just thought maybe some groups might enjoy some fun treats too unsure.gif I've tried googling around but I'm starting to think this might be something best done individually, i.e. calling or emailing places ahead of time to see if they accept gifts. That, or a neighborhood job, maybe making a community post for the local area, something like that!
