(had to top this thread to celebrate Helmet)
This little girl - Gary US Bonds
The Stooges- "Johanna"
Although the Stooges (Iggy Pop's band) were American, something Kang pointed out to me is that Swedish radio plays actual music made by people, where US radio is all disposable pop crap or the same 50 classic rock songs they've been playing since 1979. That's why I stopped listening to US radio when I was 16 years old. The Swedish radio stuff Kang's played me sounds like the "underground" music I go to see in small clubs here. Rock's last bastion- Sweden!
OK, now it's Ted Leo- "Loyal To My Sorrowful Country"
http://www.rocket.fm/news/?ID=184
Click on listen now! It's Little Steven's underground garage! Great show!
Hurts So Good - John Mellencamp
A group called "Bathory". Swedish death metal band. I just got the disc today. Its called Hammerheart. This will distrub the neighbours, but some ***hole has been drilling something into his ceiling and the noise is pretty incredible. So I am going to return the favour.
I'm listening to my husband show off his trumpet skills for our 5-year-old son. He just got done playing "The Dance" by Garth Brooks (only sheet music he could find right now).
Now he's moved on to the guitar, playing one of his own songs. I'm glad, as "The Dance" didn't really work well for me on the trumpet.

np LCD Soundsystem - Disco Infiltrator
Imagine silly me standing in line with Anthrax. I called Dock and squealed into the phone, "I'm in the airport with Anthrax!!!"
Not the smartest thing to do post 09.11...
Standing next to Anthrax at JFK would be so cool. But phoning Dock and saying your standing next to Anthrax a t JFK would be priceless.

Right now something mellow, Kuolema Tekee Taiteiijan by Nightwish.
I am getting my Nightwish box set next week via Finland.
The happy part, I did not have to buy it through HMV, Virgin or any other big box record store. My nice, friendly, music-oriented store across the street gladly helped me out.
I hate going to the faceless, unfriendly, somebody looking at you like "why the hell are you buying that" look when you go to pay for it.
They can all go f**kthemselves, I will never, ever go back to a big store for music ever, ever again.
The boxset is from 1997-2001. Angels fall first, wishmaster, oceanborn and over the hills and far away. The discs are also picture discs, with a picture of Tarja on them when put together.
I have that boxset! Purchased in Stockholm coincidentally in 2003!
Good Shout Mr Benzed I'll pick up a copy asap, I saw Kataklysm last July and they slayed.
My good friend Ramses (Yes you read right calls himself after the Bringer of War !!!!) is a close buddy of Kataklysm and has the old symbol tattooed on his arm. Getting stuck into Dark Tranquility's Character album ( Kicking myself for not going to see them at Tradgarn in GBG last December.) Hornz m/ to Benzed and Mr Toronto. Did you guys check out this weeks Rundgang on SVT2 where the presenters had a jam session with Entombed, was pretty cool
Argh really? My fave Swedish metallers of all. Still eager to see them on that rock boat to Oslo at the end of April, not sure where to enquire about tickets though.
Just finished another listening of Kataklysm - time to crank her up again! It´s not groundbreaking, it´s just good solid damaging metal
http://www.rocktheboat.no
Should give ticket details for you Benzed
Looks like a great line up
Cheers! And for the email too.
Saw Kreator last year (with your sadly missed Tranquillity lads in support) in London and they were nothing short of phenomenal.
Bit pricier than I hoped for, considering I´ll probably spend that again on booze over two days, but will try to convince some amigos to take the plunge (not literally I hope, not looking for a Titanic repeat or anything) and go along with me... :?
I am sailing, I am sailing,
Home again ?cross the sea.
I am sailing, stormy waters,
To be near you, to be free.
I am flying, I am flying,
Like a bird ?cross the sky.
I am flying, passing high clouds,
To be with you, to be free.
Can you hear me, can you hear me
Thro? the dark night, far away,
I am dying, forever trying,
To be with you, who can say.
Can you hear me, can you hear me,
Thro? the dark night far away.
I am dying, forever trying,
To be with you, who can say.
We are sailing, we are sailing,
Home again ?cross the sea.
We are sailing stormy waters,
To be near you, to be free.
Oh lord, to be near you, to be free.
Oh lord, to be near you, to be free,
Oh lord.
