You have to become a member to use it. Is this a little ploy to get members.
The Local was better in the old days before the comments section was removed. |

I enjoyed the comment section because it was "policed" and regulated at the time and the "loonies" we have today would not last...
I stopped reading TheLocal because it was taken away and am now used to not reading at all... |

I'm in a similar situation.
I used to only read the headlines, then skip straight to the comments. I do that with most news sites actually. News articles these days rarely contain any more useful information than what is in the headline already. Now I don't bother at all. The comments are boring. I prefer unfiltered comments, where anyone can contribute, loonies included (one man's loony is another man's leader). |
