(edit title) Outdoor Sauna permissions Please help and give advice Options

We are buying a house on Kallandso, do we need planning permission to put a small sauna and hottub outdoors on a deck ?

No. You can build 15m2 within your own land, provided it's not within 4m of your boundary. But you need to have anything water or electrical installed professionally otherwise you may invalidate your house insurance.

Ps. Outdoor sauna? Open air?

Thank you so much, the sauna is about 5-6 metres from the boundary and 12m2. despite Fiskpool and others selling ready made sauna's, we are having our built by local builders the old fashioned way. Im not sure whether its wood burning but its one we pour water to make it a steam - sauna and not a dry one. Thankfully the plumbing for the hot tub is done very well and it will sit on a new deck with joins two old decks (one for the house and another for the guest house 'Stuga'

My boyfriend was worried whether Kallandso is a 'conservation area' as it is an island or if there are building regulations relative to the distance from the lake. We are about 300 metres from the lake edge

We love Sweden and cant wait to live there !

There will be regulations to do with waste water in general.. ie. If you drain your hot tub, you can't have all the cleaning chemicals killing everything etc.

Hi Gimp - what an interesting name you have!

We are taking a Summer House and kind of 'sexing' it up a little based on my romanticised view of how lovely Sweden is. We wants lots of natural wood, white furniture, antlers, fur, wool and those lovely Swedish linens. We're under the impression Swedes like their saunas too though not sure what a traditional sauna looks like since we only have the dry ones here int eh UK.

Our real concern was whether Kallandso allows outdoor saunas or if there are rules regarding distance from the lake. It's only a tiny sauna and everyone else seems to have them.
