Hello everyone,
Thank you for your time reading this. I work for a Swedish company for over an year now, and decided to quit. I delivered my resignation letter by email to the HR according to my notice period of 3 months stating that my last day of work would be 3 months from the email date. To my surprise the company is refusing me the right to take my remaining vacations (I have 16 days) before the end of the notice, and insists that they will pay me the vacations. The issue is, i really did not want my vacations being paid to me. I wanted to use them since i value more my personal time then the extra money i would get. Can anyone help me about my legal rights in Sweden regarding this issue? I tried to research online, but the I could not find anything in English. Can an employer rely deny you from taking your vacations until the notice ends? Thank you all! |

This is quite normal to pay you vacation rather than allow you to take the actual vacation days!

I think they have the right to do it. Check your contract. It probably states that this is the way it will go in the situation. |
