You have to consider that the negotiations were never really going to be successful negotiations given that the four right "flavoured" parties vowed to oust the current Prime Minister no matter what the circumstances. How is that a good negotiating position? What a petty lot they seem to be and seemingly determined to force the country to another election.

Thankfully most of them have realised that any deal with the Silly Dickheads will only drive them straight into electoral oblivion as they would be duly punished by their more level headed supporters. Although one minor party has indicated a fleeting flash of stupidity [I'm being kind here!] to indicate they may possibly be open to support from the Silly Dickheads in order to form government - I think the majority of people would say, "GOODBYYYYYYYE, don't let the door hit your arse on the way out!"

Despite none of them gaining the majority of votes, the Social Democrats won the race for the most votes, they seem to have maintained this pact in order to sabotage any pathways to reasonable government despite significant concessions by the current PM. It seems reasonable to propose a cross-party government in order to reduce the influence of the Silly Dickheads and bring some sanity back to the political environment.

There doesn't seem to be any compromise on any side. Only the Christian Democrats have stated they would be open to receive help from SD. Trying to shut out or tell around 18% of the population that their vote isn't important or that you simply don't care about it, we'll that's not a healthy political climate for the country.

I honestly see another election on the horizon. This is the last chance to form a government, isn't it?

Exactly!! They're making the same mistakes as Clinton. She insulted the voters who chose Trump and guess what, it added more votes for him and now there's a large section of voters who will never vote for her.

SD aren't the answer, but then again, they have a big chunk of the vote. Not because they think they're great, but because the others won't listen to reasonable arguments, so they chose SD to get the others to wake up. To continue to ignore them, will only increase their supporters. All the other parties have to do is talk, listen and then tell everyone ie. if SD have a red line that they want to reduce refugees, then talk to them about it. Then if you can't agree, then at least say why. Engage the SD and then you might attract some of their voters. Talking costs nothing as long as you're open. With their attitude, there would never have been a peace process in Northern Ireland!!

This is why Brexit happened. Why Trump became President. Why right wing sympathies are growing across Europe. Because main, traidtional Parties are ignoring the very people who voted them in! The opposition Parties should stop whinging about SD and actually change their approach to reclaim some of those voters. Merkel has been the best tool in increasing right wing sentiment in Germany! Now she's barely hanging onto power, which was a lot stronger before the refugee crisis.

So, Annie and the others, listen, debate and then be open to the Swedish public why you can't agree or if agreed, at what level. They won't, because they care more about their political survival, than the voters they pretend to represent.

Good analysis of what is happening in politics in several countries...political leaders who are more interested in promoting their agenda and party over serving the people. Where, oh where is the Great Compromiser? We need you.

And, I believe that, Trump is the reason so many races went to the Democrats. Yes, he is accomplishing some good things but his rhetoric is so distasteful that he hurts his party. My state, Illinois, went totally Democratic. Hello higher taxes.

The United States is not the right name...the divisions now are so deep that there will be no peace between the factions, and the country will spiral into third world status...

The Democrats have promised investigations and more investigations...

Now the Republicans have offered the same...

Investigations do not build a united country, that serves it's people...

So be it!!!

We are also talking about the personal greed, lack of awareness and general disregard of the voting public, it seems that there isn't a place, need or desire for politicians to live among and pay attention to and care for the everyday people of their country...

No politician anywhere should "serve" the public for more than one term, because they sell their souls to be reelected...
