Hi All,

Is there a way to stop those pesky tele sales/marketing folks from calling me?
Have tried Google, but can't think what the Swedish name for a "do not call list" would be.

There's something called NIX registret... You call them (020-55 70 00) and they'll put you on the list. Think you have to call back and confirm again, but don't remember exactly how it's done.

Google "nixregistret" or NIX-Telefon. However, if you are already a customer to certain companies, newspapers etc. they are allowed to contact you again in the future

Use the foulest language you can think of when they call, something like; not you again, you ass sucking shit eating piece of Swedish slime. Or, still sucking out old condoms are you, I hope the slime sticks in your throat.

That should do it, just make sure it's them and not you're Mother-in-Law.

That wont work, ive worked in telemarketing. When someone acted like that we save their phonenumber and spread it out telling everyone its an asshole.
Then we would call him afterwork and fuck around.

Then a hand held screech alarm...as these do work. Made to counter obscene phone callers, again just make sure its them and not your Mother-in-law. Hey, wait a minute, a deaf Mum-in-Law, that's OK isn't it ?

Answer the phone in english...and then refuse to speak swedish...always works for me!

we got tons of these calls our first year here. It was ridiculous, never got that much in britian.
Well i just answered the phone in english yep, it confused the hell out of them, they couldnt read of their script then.
We phoned one of those numbers tho and that worked apart from one company that kept on calling, so i told em to f their mother and such, childish but they were so persistent if no one answered they would ring every hour. Was annoying the hell out of me. We havent heard much from them now thank god.

I have called the NIX register and now just need to call back on Monday to verify.

Just ask them if they would be interested in buying double glazing as you have a special offer at the moment or ask them if their sex life is good and then sell them viagra, condoms, ...or ask them why they do their shitty job and would they consider a new career or are they too stupid to get another job. Be polite ie. just keep a monotone voice.

If you speak more than 1 language other than Swedish, keep switching between English and say German or even pretend that you're losing connection or just answer the phone and as soon as you release it's a sales person, leave them talking and walk away...have a coffee etc and then put the phone down after 10 minutes.

One good technique is pretend to be mad or have tourettes!
