We are a non-English-native European couple that moved to Sweden last year and feel like we want to upgrade our English again (it's already professional, yet not perfect). Both of us have lived in English-speaking countries before, yet we lost a bit track of our language skills and confront recurring grammar problems. Please let us know your rate per hour. We will have to iron out all grammatical mistakes and get the rules explained. We live next to a T-Bana Station in Stockholm Soedermalm.

Hi,
I'm a qualified ESL teacher but not in Stockholm so I can't help you in person. However, I recommend these books for improving your grammar if you would like to do some self study. Jim Scrivener 'Teaching English Grammar' http://www.bookdepository.com/book/9780230...English-Grammar This book has great explanations and illustrations of grammar points. I frequently use it when teaching adults. I also recommend any of these books by Raymond Murphy for some more advanced grammar practice - Some of these are useful for native speakers as well. http://www.bookdepository.com/search?searc...=murphy+grammar Hope that is some help. |

Why do I get the feeling that you would be a teachers worst nightmare ?
Apart from the fact that you've had no takers that is. and there are PLENTY of english teachers on this forum. And also because your english is better than a lot of native speakers on this forum. |

i can not interact in person, but consider this. you be a newspaper reporter, describe something answering who did what, when, where, why and how. i will repharase in borderline mid-west/ east coast american better-than-average english. maybe you could get others from england and australia to reply. this might be instructive. just a thought. ps i do not check in often.

Wow, frey. You write a post like that and then expect someone to ask you to help them with their English grammar ? You've got balls, I'll give you that.

I think your lack of response might be because you posted it in the discussion area rather than the notice board? Anyhow, I've sent you a pm, let me know if you're interested.

Trying to post it on the Notice Board but it doesn't go through. We hardly get any PM's. Anyone?

Hello,
I'm a qualified ESL teacher and have just moved to Sweden. I'm currently in Norrkoping but will be up in Stockholm in the very near future. If you're still looking for a private teacher I'd like to offer my services. If you'd like to contact me my email address is dennyway@gmail.com. We could perhaps arrange to speak more and discuss your needs both in terms of amount of lessons required and specific things that you would like to improve. All the best and looking forward to hearing from you, Denny. |

Don't forget, your sentences, a preposition must never end with...
Your command of the English language seems rather good to me. Why not spend your money on getting one to one lessons for Swedish instead? |
