Still waiting for my dinner. Bloody hungry sad.gif

Dinner was late because i was waiting for my step daughter. She's still not home so we have eaten anyway.

Today was tex-mex but i buggered it up with too much chilli. Great, i will be banned for a few days from the kitchen

Steak with whiskey sauce and potato gratin. It was amazing, I've got a new oven and induction cooktop so I'm in love with cooking right now.

We had a few friends around last night and did fillet of pork and bacon in a Philadelphia cheese and cream sauce. It's great for a party as you can just turn down the heat, cover with some tin foil and leave it in the oven until all are ready to eat. Even some of the kids that are fussy eaters wolfed it down. Had home made potato wedges and salad with it last night but it goes great with pasta also.

Just had the Hairy Bikers "Fluffy banana pancakes" for lunch but made with apple instead of banana and topped with defrosted blackberries and redcurrants that we had picked from our garden in the summer.

Shades of the 'traditional' bubble and squeak.

How I would love a nice helping of tripe and onions and boiled potatoes. Read in a Swedish paper about someone trying the tripe bit and saying how she didn't like it. Peasant! ! ! Pure luxury if you could get it. Saw it ONCE only in a butcher's shop on Vegagatan in Gbg - back in 1975. The shop has long since gone - and the tripe with it unfortunately.

Last night we had pyttipanna, squash, cole slaw and washed it down with cold apple cider. Everything was home grown except for the beef in the pyttipanna.
