TheLocal is the realm of those that need to vent, find help and communicate...

That is a good thing, however the venting often leads to unfair criticism of the Swedish people and their cultural lifestyle by those having difficulty understanding and adapting to it; that can be interesting, in that there are those that gladly and vociferously challenge them and all hell breaks loose!!!

That's good too and the reason most of us are here!!!

And then there are those that create reasons to criticize that are not true, by alluding to things that they offer as proof that simply do not exist, A la the Liberal "Russian investigation" in the USA...

The main focus seems to be that the Swedish nation is bragging how wonderful they are,
right thinking, morally superior, wise, kind, Democratic, accepting to all, better than anybody else, etc..
I have never seen any documentation from legitimate government sources that verify such claims...Have you???

Lagom prevails in Swedish society...

Would it be too much to ask for source documentation on whatever is challenged by their postings???

Is the Swedish government/people really claiming what they are being accused of???

It's not that I don't agree with what you say, it is just that Saywhat is such a rude, bully that I take umbrage with how he treats people.

Nevertheless, even if GH has never lived in Sweden, his opinion is still valid as, in Sweden, image is everything. The number-crunchers at TL are probably even more interested in his opinion than ours.

It is well known that Gamla has never lived in Sweden. For him to be in utter disbelief that those living in Sweden don?t all see it as Sweden sees itself... well, that is rude and ignorant.

Here?s a simple example of the disconnect, a well known one too. Swedish govt deems itself humanitarian super power (look up Margot wallstrom for this) On this base, they welcome refugees to come and live in Sweden. A lot of people in Sweden say this is not a good idea. Fast forward after all (relative) hell breaks loose. This humanitarian superpower will deport many people for mistakes employers made with insurance, salary, etc... yet they can?t be brought to deport F...ing Isis members, they have one of the highest amount of islamophobic incidents per capita, the housing market is not good at all, schools, medical care, all downhill... largely due to the population boom... brought on by the humanitarian superpower.

In many threads you have said you live in nyc or as you say, the big apple, you have said your body is in USA but heart is in Sweden, you have said you live in big apple but consider a move to North Carolina.

Sweden claims itself the worlds first feminist democracy, right? You must have seen the numerous claims of this by many Swedish politicians... yet they have never had a female prime minister... the king is in the media, rarely the queen... the ?feminist government? notoriously embarrassed themselves by wearing hijabs while visiting Iran while Iranian women were protesting the compulsory wearing of hijabs. Oops. None of that sounds very ?feminist? to me.

First of all, the answer to that ?trick question? would simply be, I don?t beat my wife nor have I ever... unless you do, I guess. In your case, you could simply say when you have lived in Sweden, if you ever have. Don?t see what is so hard with that.

And to your original point of this thread, Sweden?s claims, I have given you a few sources and examples, proof, of their virtue signaling fluff.

In more recent news, Sweden?s economy is in decline... but they said it was strong not so long ago... what?s the deal with that? Could it be MORE bs claims by a suffering country?
