When will your best country on earth, sweden solve the rental housing market?. . I bet you it will never happen because it's a business model. Why don't you form part of the solution? If you leave there will be one less person standing in line for a rental contract. |

Top quality comment with a tone of passive aggression. Typical day in sweden.. Are you projecting your own misery?. ![]() Get help pepito. We dont need to witness your total misery here through your long pathetic posts. It is a cry for help. On behalf of many of us hope you find the help you need (and stop flooding the threads). Find real therapy. You need it. |

When will your best country on earth, sweden solve the rental housing market?. . I bet you it will never happen because it's a business model. Sweden doesn't want to break the economy like Spain. And apparently Spain hasn't learned it's lesson. You keep talking about the ease to find rentals, that is because the banks still sit on billions of euros of properties they grabbed from loan defaults back in 2008, which they keep trying to dump via auctions. During the last couple of years studies have shown that there is now a drop in the number of adults, both mature and young 18-24yr olds, saying they intend to rent. And the ownership market is starting to grow again. Fueling further this no doubt is the first bank, BBVA, to re-introduce the 100% no down payment mortgages that broke the economy before, this time though with even lower interest rates: https://www.eleconomista.es/banca-finanzas/...a-vivienda.html How long till they break the economy again? |

Have you tried commuting??? The problem is. If I move to a second hand contract no matter where I live even if I move in the middle of the forest, I am tied to the same regulations. That means short term contracts. That means that in best case scenario I will be living tops 1 year contract for second hand and in reality most contracts are very short term. I have seen even 3 months contracts, that's misery. Could you live a normal life having to move every 3/6 months?. That's the reality in sweden. There is no mobility. ZERO mobility. First hand, you know it's queuing. And that's keep trying until it happens. it can happen tomorrow or next year or never. Maybe you have forgotten how swedish system works because you live in the US but the only way to secure an affordable apartment is to buy. Everybody knows what's happening but everybody who has managed to secure their stay looks the other way because they know it's passive filter to get rid of people. It's amazing how an entire country can be accomplice of something so clearly corrupt. Sure I should leave but sometimes that's not an option. Sadly. Life is complicated. Stop making excuses for something that is designed that way on purpose. |

Pep, try the UK. 6 month initial contract, then 1 months notice there after is the norm for pretty much 99% of contracts.
