(edit title) Australians or Americans! An exchange with a swede Help with permanent living Options

Hi any Australian or American person! My name is Max Henrikz and i am a Swedish-Italian person who would like to work out a deal!
I wish to move to either Australia or America. I have done some research in the area and have found out that if there is a person with good contacts in either nation he could greatly help an European move there on a permanent basis.
I am a writer, author, historian and martial artist and would be glad to offer any help here in Sweden in exchange for your help in moving to either America or Australia. I could be your swedish language "exchanger" meaning we could talk and i would help you learn swedish faster. I could learn you some italian (if that is what you would prefer) I could give any kind of advice or help about living in sweden such as interesting places, deals on living in different places, different dialects, history geography anything that you could think of. All you need to do is to recommend me or in any other way use your legitime status in you homeland to aid me in my permanent working residency or the like I do not need to be a citizen, just able to live there on a permanent basis.
Please tell me if you are interested! I do speak both English and Swedish fluently, i speak Italian relatively well but am not so good at its grammar.

There is no way to get "good references" or use "good contacts" for permanent residence in Australia. You will need to do it the legal and normal way that everyone else has to do. You will need to apply for a visa, generally a working one or student, after 2 years you can apply for a temp resident and again after that perm resident and after 5 years with at least 2 consectutive years without leaving you can apply for citizenship. You could always try and bluff it and marry an aussie. With my extensive work within goverenment sectors of Oz, I can tell you its one of the hardest coutries to get a perm residency. I can't tell you if the US is the same but I would think it would be just as hard. Good Luck though.

Thank you for providing me with some new info. But you see, i have talked with the australian embassy both here in sweden and in germany. If i have an employer in australia which is interested in employing me i could get a working visa and then stay there long enough to apply for a permanent residency, kind of like a green card in the US. I know australia is hard to get a perm residency in but i will keep trying. The employment issue can be fixed with "references" and "contacts" if you see what i mean my friend.

I must agree with Rhythm. I can not speak for Australia but similar rules alluded to by Rhythm apply in the U.S. No reference will help you. Only a secure job which has been approved by immigration, one which can not be filled by a U.S. citizen will get you a green card. It sounds like you are trying to pull a scam and I rather doubt it will work if you know what I mean my friend.

I do still hold to the fact that i have talked with the australian goverment via embassies. They say that i CAN get a job by being recommended, please do not comment posts on what you THINK. Thank you.

Absolutley you can get a job through someone you know but they are still going to want to interview you and talk with you to ensure you are going to be suitable for the job what you are looking at here is being sponsered by an employer, which means that you would need a job lined up when you enter australia on a working visa from either an australian or overseas company working out of OZ and then you can renew this visa through the sponser. In this case if you knew someone in Oz that knew someone that needed someone with your exact skills that may help. But this is an expensive option for the employer as they have to pay thousands of dollars each year to keep you employed (why do this if they can simply hire an aussie for no cost) after a certain tme you can then apply for residency and then citizenship.With something like this you would need to be a skilled professioal ie doctor, nurse, IT expert. You would will be no doubt hired by a big company and in this case a reference from someone you have briefly met overseas or chatted to through a forum isn't going to help and as stated by johnjohn Oz is the same as the US in the case that its approved if you can show its something you can do that an Australian can't or in a field that Australia is in need of workers, which there are a lot. There are alot of other options to get you into Australia, for example if you are under 30 you can get a VISA for a working holiday for 1 year that can be extended for another year if you have worked at least 3 months in a rural town and not in a major city. Whilst in Oz you may meet someone and that can also give you a case to be grnted with residency. But be aware that if you apply due to a relationship you will need alot of proof that its real and not jus a scam to stay.There are alot of different VISA's and alot of reason that you can be granted residency but I stand by the fact that you won't get residency by having references, Its hard but not impossible to get a job through references alone. I would sugget if Australia is where you want to live than applying for a work VISA and moving there on a working visa and after that its all about networking. Once in Oz you will get a better understanding of how it all works and what you will need to do to get a resident permit. I can gaurentee you will NOT get a residency off references immigration does not work that way. You will need to show you have a permanent job, a network and a reason to be there, savings and healh insurance,. You will need to show you will not be a burden on society and that you will be of use to the country. Of course when you apply for your residency letters form your employer wouldn't hurt but its not going to be a huge deciding factor in the case. I hope this helps I don't want to put a dampener on your plans but I have plenty of friends that have tried to permantly base themselves in Australia after working there for a few years and have been rejected on many different grounds, as I said its not an easy or quick process.
