Flying from Stockholm to Lille, France |

Hi,
I am planning to visit some friends in Lille(France) in April. I tried to search for some flights to Lille from Stockholm, but was able to find only one through Air France costing more than 7000 SEK. Can some one help me in this regard. I have never travelled to France before, therefore, I am unsure of the best possible route and airline. Cheers! |

I'm afraid you are up the creek, Bra_billie_boy.
A regional flight from here and within France? Air France has effectively a monopoly in the business, and, consequently, it costs an arm and a leg. I remember a couple of years ago when I went round trip to Limoges from Arlanda. I cost plenty, and the Air France people at Arlanda had to check on the destination as they had never heard of the famous glass-producing city. I would look into train travel if you want a reasonable rate. |

The whole problem seems to be that Air France constructed all its domestic routes out of Paris - what the trains had done a century before - so if you want to go anywhere in the country by air, you have to go via Charles de Gaulle airport.
It really gets crazy and expensive if you, say, want to go from Bordeaux to Grenoble. At least the railroad people had excuses: They were dealing with real competitors, not just a monopoly, and the railways came first. |

the last thing I want to do is go anywhere via CDG airport.
I was transiting over Christmas and the ticket agent did not gave me a connecting boarding pass via CDG. The security wont let me through the gate at CDG for flight leaving outside of EU because I did not had the boarding pass.My airline counter was after the security to collect the boarding pass. The immigration had 4 counters, 1 closed, the 3 that were open one of them had no officer, and the last two were chatting with people in a long lineup panicking for their connection. further the airport is filthy and dirty. |
