You can apply under EU rules - your gf does not need a residence card or permit to live in Sweden

she don't need any permits as a nordic citizen but i need permit as a non eu citizen.if she moves malmo and and apply for me then i can apply for residence permit i think.i think nordic citizens also considered as swedish citizens according to migrationsverket website.but i haven't found any forum with topic like this case. all cases are through eu rule bz their spouses are not having danish residence permit.but i am holding a danish permit.i think u understood what i am saying.

Danish permit is USELESS in Sweden, you have to apply the new resident permit as normal procedure plus she has to register with MV.

If your partner moves to Malmö and get registered with Skatteverket as being resident in Sweden, then she can make an application for you using the same rules as a Swedish citizen, i.e. she can apply for you as a sambo and you get permanent residence in two years.

However citizenship will take you around 4 yrs as your sambo will first have to become a citizen, then wait two more years before you can apply.

I think many people do it the EU way since it is more generous in terms of requirements, etc.

I think that a Nordic citizen is only required to register with Skatteverket, no permits, cards or other proof is required.

I doubt that, if I remember correctly the rule is that You only get the permanent directly if You have lived together in Your country of origin for 2 years. In this case You have lived in Her country of origin.

Yorkshireman is pretty much correct on this one. However the Swedish version of the site simply says a country other than Sweden while the English version says your home country.

Maybe someone can shed some light on how they apply it in a case such as yours.

Is it that hard to get a sambo type permit in Denmark?

Denmarks rules make Sweden look like a playground! biggrin.gif

eg. Your sambo cannot have received any social benefits within the 3 years prior to the application, no matter how short the time receiving them was, they have to post a 50.000 DKK bank guarrantee to cover potential social payments for the incoming partner!. The one applying for the permit, if it is given, must complete a Danish language test within 6 months of arriving! biggrin.gif ...etc...

Even the work permits are a little naughty compared to Sweden ... the OP is on a Green Card Work Permit, where you can keep having it extended as long as You find work, and they even give extensions if you are looking for work, You get 6 months to find work, even if you lose your job ... However, You are not allowed to claim any social benefits. And the maximum time the permit can be extended for is 4 years, then You must leave. Permanent Residency permits take 5 years living in Denmark ... which means You cannot get one with this kind of work permit!

Married couples, registered partners and cohabiting

If you have lived with your spouse or partner in another country than Sweden for at least two years gives Migration Board generally a permanent residence.

this is what mentioned in website.so if we live in denmark together then what happens according to above rule.

Unfortunately NO, your partner is no Swedish citizen, therefore you are not entitled to the 2 years rules of living together.

Actually this is not true, Nordic citizens are treated like Swedish citizens even for the purposes of migration.

If your Nordic family member is a registered resident of Sweden you can apply for a residence permit in the same way as someone who wishes to move to Sweden to live with a Swedish citizen. You can find more information about the application process under the heading Moving to live with a Swedish citizen.

His sambo, on being registered in Sweden, can apply and be regarded in the exact same way as is obtained with Swedish citizen.

The family of a Nordic citizen can either be treated the same as family members of an EU citizen OR be treated as family members of a Swedish citizen

From MVs website
http://www.migrationsverket.se/info/4360_en.html
Moving to live with a Nordic citizen
If you are a citizen of a country which is not a part of the EU/EEA and you wish to move to live with a family member in Sweden who is a Nordic citizen, you must have a residence permit.

If your Nordic family member is a registered resident of Sweden you can apply for a residence permit in the same way as someone who wishes to move to Sweden to live with a Swedish citizen. You can find more information about the application process under the heading Moving to live with a Swedish citizen. Please read all the information before submitting your application.
Nordic citizens can also be treated as EU/EEA-citizens, if they fulfill the requirements for registering their right of residence in accordance with EU law. If your family member fulfills these requirements you may be eligible for a residence card. For more information on how to apply for a residence card, please read under the heading Moving to an EU/EEA citizen.

Please note that your Nordic family member does not actually need to register his or her right of residence. Registering with the local tax office is sufficient.
