Hi people,
After working as a consultant in the last couple of months in Gothenburg I have the opportunity to go become permanent.
I was in a what a think a not bad rate of 690SEK per hour. Unfortunately I don't know what to expect as a permanent salary.
The position would be for a technical manager position typically could be said as niche...
Could someone one shine a light what sort of salary should be expected?
I'd knock 25% off what it would be in the UK.
But you might be able to negotiate the difference as pension contributions as it is tax beneficial to them.
I have a friend at that company who is in a similar position and earns around 60,000 p/m.
Hi
A Salary of 60000/month (assuming before taxes) appears to be low when compared to UK! Plus Gothenburg its significantly more expensive than mostly of the UK.
Is this true???
Don't expect what you are getting now, contract rates are much higher than employed rates.
A normal engineer can expect that amount.
Is 60K/month before tax a salary of a Manager?
There are managers and managers from project managers to managing directors, where do you fit in.
I fit into the Technical Specialist Role kind of manager.
So you are not a real manager. I am not sure what you are saying by technical specialist. Is it powertrain, body in white, interior or paint. Is it product development, CAD or process etc.
Technical Specialist of an exterior feature - responsible for managing all the technical aspects of that feature (not a typical people manager).
This gets odder and odder, an exterior feature. Is that one part or paint, I am confused. To manage an exterior feature is strange or is it something new and top secret.
If it is a international company then their HR department will most likely have a salary matrix so that they cannot be accused of discrimination and you will get the salary that has been allocated to your job role. You can always check with Union - but they can only give you average figures.
I do not have the salary matrices and union contracts for large international car manufacturers.
Your question indicates that either:
1) You are a troll
2) You do not have the level of intelligence to take up a "Technical Specialist Role kind of manager"
3) Just plain incompetent
4) Only worth the average Gothenburg salary, which is SEK 23,657/month.
And if you do not know how to find out 4) in less than 60 seconds, then you are not a manager and worth less than SEK 23,657/month.
Do your homework!
OP, you seem a bit underprepared...
690 x 168 (standard #hours / month) = 115k, so I suspect that was a loaded rate already, ie, from which employers tax, vacation, company pension, insurances, other benefits etc would be taken before you can see the equivalent of a gross "normal" salary? If so, then roughly halve that to get an "normal" salary, and that would be about right, say 60k. [multipliers for contractors vary from about 1.8-2.3 depending on which business, level, agency, etc].
But if that was the salary you were getting from an agency *after* employers tax etc, then they must love you.
