The Local _ Svealand _ Just moved to Uppsala!

Posted by: Davelostinsverige 14.Jan.2009, 09:25 AM

Finally made it out of Borlänge in Dalarna and now live in Uppsala, somewhere with a slightly lower crime rate. wondered if there was any other expats out there in this nice city?

I will be traveling to Uppsala today, Dave. And, what's more, I am going to give you honor of letting you buy lunch for me. Where should we meet at noon?

Posted by: Davelostinsverige 14.Jan.2009, 09:40 AM

Ah ok what luck there! Well i always thought it was the guest that payed?! biggrin.gif
i dont know any good places in Uppsala have only been here a couple of days.

Posted by: Guest 14.Jan.2009, 09:45 AM

Well, of course, the guest pays. But seeing as I am more familiar with Uppsala than you, then that makes you the guest.

What do you say, we meet at Catalin; it's located right next to the Central Station (just East of the tracks)? They have a nice menu there, as well as Guiness on tap.

Noon sharp okay?

Posted by: Davelostinsverige 14.Jan.2009, 09:50 AM

haha i guess that does make me the guest...
Sounds good to me sure i can find it pretty easy. So do i look out for the person with the pint of guiness in hand?

Great! I am getting offline now to get ready, and to get moving on my way down there. Here is my mobile number, just in case: 073 803 9109.

See you at noon.

If you're actually going to buy lunch for some guy you just had a few-post chat with on The Local, I'd say yes.

well i was never going to buy lunch but thought it would be cool to meet up with some nice localers...do they exist on here or am i going to be used as a joke tool on here?

I'd say just go and see what happens. I think it'd be interesting to meet up with PrinceKnight for a pint... Let us know how it goes.

Edit: I've met Locallers in Gothenburg, Stockholm and Malmö, and they're all pretty cool.

That was...
fast...

I live in Uppsala.
Its a strange place. It has the aura of a frontier settlement about it, wild west sort of thing.
The buildings are grand and befitting a major city but...its just not.

So how was lunch??
