A couple of days ago someone (sorry, I can't remember your name) made a post about the forum, posts and GDPR after the forum closes.
This post has been deleted yet all the other posts with abuse, slagging Sweden off and so on remain untouched. That really makes no sense at all. You can guess GDPR goes against The Local's interests which is ironic given how pro-EU they are. |

Responsibility for Electronic Bulletin Boards (The BBS-Act)
The act on responsibility for electronic bulletin boards (1998:112), also known as the BBS-Act, implies that everyone who provides public digital services where people can post content is responsible for monitoring the service and for removing and preventing the proliferation of content that is not compliant with certain laws and regulations. I'm amazed they haven't shut this site immediately deleted everything themselves. https://www.imy.se/other-lang/in-english/ab...ty-does-not-do/ https://www.imy.se/lagar--regler/dataskydds...ataskyddsombud/ |

Nothing funny. The person who made that post about GDPR subsequently requested that their account and posts be deleted. Hence that post was deleted.
If anyone wants their account and/or posts deleted, simply email us at support@thelocal.com. This has always been the policy, as stated in the privacy policy linked in the footer, and it will continue to be the policy indefinitely even after closure. |
