Hello folks

I'm from Bosnia and I'm planning to get marry with Swedish citizen. I wanted to ask some questions about maintenence requirement from Migrationsverket.

She's living with her parents there and has no own place, she was searching for some apartments where we could live and to be able to send application for my permit. she meet all reqs regarding her income and job, only problem is that apartment. I'm not knowing much about Swedish laws, and I will try to tell you how she told me about it. according to her we need to find apartment, beside size and other things provided from Migrationsverket, where only our names will be (I didn't quite understand it). also she was telling me about Hyresr?tt and Bostadsr?tt, that we need that Bostadsr?tt(still not understanding)

and also, is it relevant the time of contract for apartment?

pls if anyone has experienced same or similar thing like this, that they share their opinions in short lines smile.gif

Thanks in advance smile.gif

Hello
there is maintenence requirement from Migrationsverket.but she have work so there is no problem.she need only apartment now
1 Hyresr?tt is apartment you can get in rent from a company or privet person and you will pay rent every month.
2 Bostadsr?tt is apartment you can buy it.but you have no any visa so thats why the apartment will be on your wife name 100%. if one day there is problem in your relationship,i dont think so you will get anything smile.gif

You can send it now. Now you will have to wait 2 more years for them to have a look at your application

That is not the right question. The right question is: can you live apart from your family for 2 years? Unless your marriage is just in order for you to get swedish citizenship, I do not see how anyone could do that.

we got married in August last year, and since then we are living apart from each other..she's in Sweden, working and living, and I'm in Bosnia, also working and living.. I didn't marry only cuz of citizenship.. We are seeing each other only in semester, or when we have holidays.. so living apart from each other is OK with us.. I was just wondering why migrationsverket need that much time for checking application

anyway, thank you for your answer smile.gif

Congratulations to the flat. One reason it take long time is they want to see that the relationship is serious.
First you probably only gonna get a temporary recidensy. And probably have to answer lots of questions you didn't even count with.
If they approve all temporary it is often maximun 2 years. Can be less too.
When that residency need to be renewed you hopefully get a PUT.

But right now it might be harder to move together cause the covid 19 situation.

Good luck!
My Englishman recently got his PUT after living with me for over 3.5 years now.

That is incorrect. The reason why it takes long is because asylum seekers in Sweden have higher priority than Swedish citizens. That is why Migrationsverket prioritize asylum applications among others such as work permits, studies & etc. When it comes to moving to Sweden everyone has a better rights than a family members of Swedish citizens. Family members of work permit holders wait 2-3 months, family members of EU citizens wait 0 days. Family members of Swedish citizens wait 24+ months. Besides that period of time they need to go through a process of an interview in 95% cases even if they were living with their partner/spouse for years and/or if they have children together.

You have both right and wrong.
In this case, like in mine, it don't look like they lived together for years before. And that gonna be a statement from Migrationsverket when they got answer for the application. So they have to proof more about the relationship.
I have working friend with none EU partner that got their application approved much earlier than my partner and I. My working friend and I am both Swedish cititenz from birth.

That people with an EU partner get approved faster I guess for they often are just no risk trying be Swedish cititenz "faster". So they still have to fullfill all demands and the five years.
They probably want to avoid faked marriages, that was more common many, many years ago.

I can describe my situation with my Englishman.
We started the relationship in Januari 2015. And we had to travel to meet. (Like the TS).
1st of August 2016 he moved to me in Sweden. We filled in our first application just some days after.
In the end of 2017 we got request to fill in formular again and insert attachments they asked for.
In middle of Januar we got answer with temporary recidensy for 2 years. And one explaining was that they needed us to lived together or been able in other way show the relationship is serious.
In end of December 2019 we applied for PUT. And my man got his PUT in March 2020.

Of course they put more affort for asyl seeking persons. No secret.
But I just wanted to tell they still needed to proof their relationship.
It probably goes faster if they had already lived together some years in another country. But it don't look like they did it.
