The Local _ Newcomers _ Questions about moving to Sweden

Posted by: christuna 4.Jun.2020, 03:28 AM

Hi folks I'm new here and have a few questions about moving to Sweden:

1. When I get a Personnummer through full time work and I quit the job right after getting the number then does my number become invalid or can I just keep it indefinitely without conditions?

2. When you work part time in Sweden (like 2 days a week) do you usually get the state health insurance?

3. When you run your own business do you get the state health insurance?

4. When you apply for a citizenship do they care how much you worked/ how much money you were making?

1. What country are you from? It affects the answer.

2. Once you get a personal number you get access to the health system.

3. Refer to answer #2.

4. No, at least not officially. If you are from outside the EU then each year when you need to extend your visa you will probably get asked how you support yourself, etc.

Have a look at the forms you need to fill in to apply for citizenship and the documentation you need to provide. Should be info on Migrationsverket's website. When I became a citizen I had to send in a bunch of papers to show what I had been doing and how I had supported myself since I arrived in SW. And maybe my police record (blank) if I remember right. This was many moons ago, no idea of the current process but I am sure the info will be on the website.

In that case you are part of the big happy family so EU laws are applicable which will be the same for immigrants to Poland.
