(edit title) Looking for American/English measuring cups Measuring cups Options

Hi,

Does anyone reading this have or know of someone who has an extra set of American/English measuring cups? i.e. 1 cup, 3/4 cup, 1/2 cup etc..

I live in Stockholm and have not been able to get hold of the said cups; I tried converting the cup measurements to its metric equivalent but it proved disastrous! I am even willing to buy used ones, provided they are whole, in tip-top condition and very clean. It would be great if the cups are made of stainless steel but glass or even plastic would be considered too.

Any assistance in this regard would be most highly appreciated. Please kindly get in touch asap.

I think US and UK cups are different sizes, what are you after?
You should be able to find a stainless steel 250 ml cup pretty easily.

Well, I'm sure you could order said cups through Amazon. I don't know what the shipping would be but they aren't big or heavy.

Yeah, the easiest way is probably ordering from Amazon or eBay (tip: go to their co.uk sites instead of the .com site, the shipping costs to Sweden is usually much lower).

If that's not an option for some reason I know there are lots of liter measuring cups that have both metric and american notation on the inside, like deciliters on one side and cups/pints on the other. This one for instance: http://www.clasohlson.com/se/M?ttkanna-Coline/44-1906

Buy this at IKEA. I use it everyday! And it has been a fantastic tool for me to familiarize myself with, and memorize, the metric system. I always used to measure in cups or fl oz and then I would look at the equivalent in dL etc. It ended up converting me to a metric system user But it's a great tool because you can use it for both imperial and metric recipes, interchangeably. http://www.ikea.com/se/sv/catalog/products/10134971/ (if the image isn't clear enough, each side of the measuring cup shows a different measurement - cups, deciliters, fluid ounces, etc)

Thank you very much for your response!

Before I go any further, I must say that I am new to this site and find it quite a challenge just to log in, as there is no log-in button anywhere easily discernible.. I had to go in from an email response and still got "locked out" as the system said I used a wrong username and password! However, I wanted to thank you all so I tried in different ways to get in otherwise I would have given up (I understand the feeling as I saw some other people too had difficulty using this forum..)

Anyway, I am very glad to know that IKEA could solve my problem, even though it was hard to see the cup measurement from the picture but I will certainly get that tool as well as the conversion stick from Lagerhaus! (thanks a lot mjennin2!) It is most economical and practical for me to get these than to order from Amazon or Ebay... but still it is heartening to see that people are so willing to help!
