Police in Malmö are convinced of outside adult involvement after a pair of sisters aged 3 and 7 were caught stealing clothes at a supermarket in the city on Friday.

"It must be a record, I've never come across a three-year-old thief before," police inspector Mats Attin told news website nyhetskanalen.se.

The junior thieves were stopped as they tried to slip passed a pay desk at a Citygross supermarket. Staff found children's clothing worth 700 kronor ($100) hidden under the girls' clothes, and under the three-year-old who was sitting in a stroller.

There is no way 3 and 7 year olds have been involved in shop lifting without adult involvement.
The parents should have spent a few weeks in a police cell answering questions regarding this.

Yeah, there's no way they did this on their own.
It's sad but it's also scary that parents would send a 7 year old and a 3 year old into town by themselves, that's way too young. Anyone could've taken them and been gone.

7 year olds can be old enough for shoplifting on their own.
when my sister was 5 she always stole childrens books from the supermarket till we found out and told her it's not allowed. maybe the 7yo stole the cloth for her dolls?

In the US shoplifters are as young as 5 yrs old, so it can happen.

This story appears to be short on detail. Perhaps due to deliberate obfuscation. Could someone please fill in the blanks?

These are children, and children from time to time pick up bad habits if it were in Africa where i came from, some spanking in the nyash(buttocks) or punishments like kneeling down with hands up, stand on one leg with one finger touching the ground would teach the children never to do that again, but i guess in sweden, you do that and you will explain your self in court. I wonder how the police will deal with the case.

@stabbull:
Yes, I think physically torturing the children is definitely the right way to go. Nothing teaches a child a moral lesson like some torture. They tortured me as a kid and look, I'm just fine!

Cebeynch, I think you may be on to something. My guess is these were blonde Swedish shoplifters. You know, the ones that are so common in Malmo.

I agree, that they were blonde. But I happen to think they were Icelandic. These icelanders can't be trusted. Just look at the havoc they caused with this volcano they decided to set off.

"We are convinced there was an adult involved in this since the clothes weren't even the right size for the girls; they were for even younger children. But nobody saw them entering the store with an adult," said Mats Attin.
These police geniuses seem to think that a 3 & 7 year old would be able to understand what sizes they were stealing ?

unless they were stealing to resell.
