I am thinking of coming to Swden to study and would like to know if any racism exists, especially towards the english, also if any Swedish people read this do you like the English?
Basically, would I be welcome in Sweden? |

QUOTE (Truly) YOu are very welcom e to the lovely country Sweden ,Sure there are idiots everywhere,
but most swedes are very normal, like me and we are living in a society of many nationalities, Would be intrested to know where you will live ? Already speaking Swedish? Good start, but I think we are pretty good at your language ,start in school at the age of 8. And we also like especially english speaking people , and the funny swedish/english accents when you learn our (weird) language . Yes indeed I beleive most of us are friendly to a mix of cultures. Ofcourse the racism of today is about diffrent reasons;Old people that grew up with only swedes, and fear everything unfamiliar, age, whats going on in the world, fear of terrorism, all kinds. However generally speaking I think you will feel welcome. Remember this: Sometimes I hear from foreigners that they see a huge diffrence between swedes and for instance americans , we might be sort of stiff ,at first I hear that we are dressed in armour and hard to get (under the skin )yet soft and friendly. Doesnt neccesary means that we are hostile to foreigners Malmö citizen and Swede. |
