I use a UK VPN for this purpose in Sweden. You select UK or US server depending on watching either BBC iPlayer or HULU. It also works for the ITV Player from England which has a lot of good TV on it.

Tvguide.co.uk gives you free live UK tv on a tablet without need for a vpn. I watched BBC news on the terrace of my room when on holday in France last month. You can also watch other counties broadcasts.

I haven't used iPlayer for about a year but I noticed that the player only checked your location at the start of the stream. Due to this I was just using a free VPN with limited bandwidth and as soon as the video started I could just disconnect the VPN and carry on watching.
This might have changed by now though but worth a try as you only need the VPN for logging in and starting a video. |
