Hej, my wife and I are visiting Sweden in a few weeks and hope to locate some of her family. We have a name, address and phone number of a relative we were told lives on the old family farm in Gr?smark, but we understand he is an older gentleman who doesn't speak any English. We're from the US and don't speak any Swedish beyond minimal tourist purposes...

So we would like to see if we could arrange for a Swedish<-->English interpreter, someone who could first contact him and explain that we would enjoy meeting him and if possible see the family farm, and if so, then act as an interpreter for us so we can talk with him. This would be a few hours of time (plus of course travel time if there is nobody nearby).

I found this forum, and thought I'd throw this idea out there to see if anyone has any ideas, knows someone who could do that, is someone who could do that...???

Tack!

Just joined today so first time I have seen your post. Did you have any luck getting in touch with the relatives? I live fairly close - about 50 miles away - so can help if you come over another time. Best of luck, Jules
