Hello, question as in the title
My case is not complicated, I only need to clarify certain things before applying. Could anyone recommend attorney or law firm in Gothenburg or area, and also what fees should I expect per hour of consultation here (more or less of course). Thanks a lot for help! |

Why bother with a lawyer?
If your marriage is one that can be disolved in Sweden, then just download the form from the courts website, fill it in, pay the fee. If your spouse doesn't agree to sign before you send it in, they will be notified of the divorce application once the court receives it. The assets/debts that are in existence at the date the court processes the receipt of the completed (paid) form, is what are used when calculating the division. If you cannot agree on the division of assets you can ask the court to appoint a person to oversee (normally it is a lawyer appointed by the court). There is a mandatory wait of 6 months before divorce is finalised if there are children, otherwise it is optional if there are no children. |

If you speak Swedish and don't have too many questions, check whether your local municipality organises free legal consultations - often this is available at the local library once very week or so, you get like 15-20 minutes. Look for "Juridisk r?dgivning".
https://www.lawline.se/ is often useful too. |
