Should have gone further?

Sweden's new work permit proposals are a definite improvement in trying to attract more working immigrants into our country, but dont go far enough.

More needs to be done if we have to compete with USA, Canada, Germany, France, UK etc. to get the best talent.

The so-called 'best talent' will always go to the most lucrative countries and they will always be the place where applicants can speak the language. So the US and UK it is, generally speaking.

The same can be said about what cities in those countries can attract the talent. London will attract people over a shithole like Birmingham, for example. The UK are having to spend billions of pounds to try and make Birmingham more attractive by building a new rail line out of the place to get to London faster.

To me, this looks like a case of a resident of Helsingborg trying to provide a former resident of Birmingham.

Should have gone a lot further. Minimum wage should have been fixed at 50k sek/month.

Remember what I warned would happen if the blatant abuse of work migration to Sweden continued? Well, hate to say I told you so.

What is the purpose of changing the law, if you still have no intention of respecting the law? Check for legal migration in those infringement notice: https://ec.europa.eu/com ... (show full quote)

And how about all that shit?

https://ec.europa.eu/commission/presscorner.../en/INF_19_4251

"Waste water: Commission refers SWEDEN to the Court for its failure to treat urban waste water

The European Commission decided to refer Sweden to the Court of Justice of the EU over its failure to ensure that urban waste water from a number of agglomerations receives adequate treatment, as required under EU rules (Council Directive 91/271/EEC). Untreated wastewater can put human health at risk and pollute lakes, rivers, soil and coastal and groundwater. Sweden has failed to ensure that urban waste water is subject to appropriate treatment before it is discharged back into the environment. Although there has been progress towards compliance, Sweden is still failing to meet its obligations under EU law. The Commission decided to open the EU infringement procedure by sending a letter of formal notice to Sweden in January 2010, followed by additional letters sent inSeptember 2015 and April 2017, as well as a reasoned opinion in November 2018. As there is still not full compliance by all the agglomerations in question, the Commission has decided to refer the case to the Court of Justice of the EU. For more information, please refer to the full press release."

Does the world's self-adoring self-proclaimed "humanitarian superpower" have no humanity?

Oh the stench! No wonder expatBeagle with his cabbage fetish is so enamoured with the place! 10 years of breaking the "shit in water" laws!

Hillarity of the day. The student wing of the conservative party doesn't like the fact that their parent party wants to stem the flow of minimum wage cleaners, fast food workers, care takers, snow shovelers et.al. So they managed to dig up an "almost Harvard graduate" who at the time works for a startup in Stockholm. She wouldn't be allowed to work in Sweden under the new rules.

Can anyone here tell me why a graduate of Harvard wouldn't just tell a recruiter offering them less than 32k/month to go stuff their head in a paper shredder?
