3 years ago I got my UT in 32 days, on the same day when I had my interview, while others had to wait minimum 3 months. I'm from Turkey and sure that Turkey isn't one of MV's favorite countries. When I recieved the decision mail I called the embassy and they said it was really fast like they had never seen such example before.
On the interview I was only asked if I was pregnant or not, nothing else. I think waiting times are depending on different case officers work load. |

^^I agree with you, groovesalad. And even today, we see on the spreadsheet that it seems those who applied from Turkey (or Iran, or Iraq, or Albania, or Algeria, or Bosnia, etc) wait no longer or shorter than Aussies, Canadians, Japanese, Taiwanese or anyone else, unless there are complications with their case.

Here you go! Just look for cases where the "Applied From" column says "Applied from Within Sweden". You are in there too ![]() There are a few cases that also switched from an outside application to an inifr?n one, where the partner got permission to finish the wait from within Sweden due to pregnancy or whatnot. If you do a CTRL+F in the blog link here and search for "within Sweden", the tool will help you locate cases where, in the notes section, it discusses specific cases where the applicant switched from an outside to an inside application. Just in case that is of any interest to you. http://hejaherrljunga.blogspot.se/2015/11/...15-part-7b.html |

so mjenin you still didn't recieve your confirmation? Hej Leb!! How are you?? I hope you and your wife are enjoying the new year ![]() Nope - no decision for me. But it's not my time yet. I applied 16 January last year, so I have a couple months left. I've spent the last 3 weeks with my love here in Sweden for the holidays though, so I haven't felt any of the pain for several weeks. It's been so nice!! I had forgotten what "normal life" had felt like. Fells like I can breathe again ![]() |

Hej All,
While you are waiting in Sweden for your residence permit decision (as a non-EU citizen), could you travel out of Sweden and return to Sweden to be with your loved on (EU Citizen, non-Swedish). I am thinking of returning to my country in Asia for 3 months. I am already awaiting 9 months without interview. Then travel back to Sweden. Either directly if possible or to apply a Schengen visa. Would this be at all fine. Best Wishes, DW |

Hi! Since your partner is an EU citizen that is not a Swede, you are free to leave Sweden and then return, all while your permit is processing. EU citizens are allowed to have their partners come in immediately and do their wait in Sweden while the paperwork is processing, so it's different than a non-EU who's partner is a Swede. You may want to just shoot MV an email just in case though, especially if you are concerned at all that a 3 month break from your sambo might look suspicious to them in anyway, as they consider your application. |

I've sent in the electronic forms for a Sambo visa exactly six months ago, and wasn't contacted for an interview yet. I have a bad feeling about this. Ideas anyone?

I've sent in the electronic forms for a Sambo visa exactly six months ago, and wasn't contacted for an interview yet. I have a bad feeling about this. Ideas anyone? Hey there! No bad feelings. MV stopped issuing interview emails to people who applied after mid-February 2015 (with the exception of some random cases). Their excuse is that they are focusing all of their efforts on clearing out the backlog of the older cases, before issuing interview emails to the more recent applicants. This will *supposedly* not affect your wait time at all -- that is to say, people who do their interviews in the beginning, middle or end of the process "will not affect" (<--MV's words, so take them with a grain of salt) the ultimate amount of time everyone has to wait -- unless you are one of the unfortunate ones who live in a country where there are extraordinarily long wait times to schedule an interview appointment, like Turkey. But it may also be why if you call them and ask how long you will likely need to wait for a decision, they will quote a wait time much longer than what's on the website. Annnnyway, if you want to see the timeline stats of other people (including where MV stopped with issuing interview emails), check my blog here: http://hejaherrljunga.blogspot.se/2015/11/...15-part-7b.html I would also suggest you join us in the facebook group, because it really does help a LOT to settle your fears and stay up to date on all the latest news (although I will warn you, 95% of posts are in Swedish. But they speak and respond to English posts too!) Link to the group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/607552706053504/ |

Incompetent people are working in MV so don't trust them whatever they tell you when you call them. Couple of days ago when I've called them a girl who answered have told me that I cannot wait for decision to be made whitin Sweden
![]() ![]() So my advice is to not call them, email them instead because in that case they need to double check all the info with their supervisor |

It's so frustrating though because they are SO CAREFUL about what they say in writing. I don't know what I want more -- a bullshit contradictory answer on the phone with a live human, or some super vague copy-and-paste response in an email that doesn't even bother to answer my question?
![]() ![]() I may need some serious therapy after this wait... but is anyone else finding this whole process comically hilarious at this point?? ![]() |
