Sweden Rewards Murderers & RapistsWhat message is being sent? |

I'm a permanent resident, here from the United States. Today I read an article about the gang rape which took place in my neighborhood and how these illegal immigrants from Africa who pinned this girl to the ground and repeatedly fucked her, only some of them were rewarded with a 6 & 9 month stint in a tax funded correctional facility - where they will get a higher quality of living and care than they were in their 'tent city'
What is going on in this country right now? This girl has to walk the streets knowing her gang rapists are still there; knowing that the others will be there soon enough too. Sweden also rewarded the Eritrean illegal migrant who was issued a deportation notice & then stabbed to death 2 innocent Swedes at IKEA...with a life sentence in a SWEDISH correctional facility. The correctional facilities that were quoted as being "not a punishment, in Sweden." Is anyone protesting the way this gang rape case was handled?! Does anyone have a spine in this country? This isn't the place that I moved to... Where is the justice or ability to act?! If anyone has information on where we as immigrants can write to (other than these inept political parties) in order to be heard, please let me know. This news is so deeply disturbing and the way in which these crimes are being handled is even more alarming & appalling. Sweden is so much better than this... we can't send this message out and encourage this behavior. |

I agree in full. Sweden IS so much better than this, but the legal system is way out of touch with reality.
I read of a case recently where someone was 'given a life sentence and would be deported when they came out'. I believe that in the US, for example, life means life and when they come out it is in a box. Here life means just a few years and even the chance of early release for being a good boy. You can even commit rape while you are sleeping ! ! ! AND get freed as a result. I think they must have fairy stories for the judiciary to read, not law books. |

I was so angry when I read the new. In the country where women are respected and gender equality is generally accepted as one essential pillar of social, why the number of rapes and the brutality of rapes have been increased over years.
Because the rapers have not been punished enough. The sentences have been jokes where they can get away with. Laws must be made to protect the majority of innocent people. Not to show mercy on the minority of criminals. |

Ah yes, but often they are regarded as poor misguided individuals who had a poor upbringing and therefore cannot be blamed - - -

"Ignorance of the law does not excuse you from breaking it". Poor upbringing means throwing trash on the streets, not raping. Thats not poor upbringing thats antisocial behavior.

I am amazed that the 15+ gang rapes a year never make the news. If they are ever reported, the continent of origin of the rapist never seems to be a relevant fact to the story.

The ones that really stand out to me are the... 19yo Swedish girls invited 3 homeless ??? back to her apartment for a shower and hot meal, where they proceeded to rape her all night... Swedish woman invited to the neighboring apartment while she waited for her friend to get back, and when she tried to leave was grabbed and gang raped... etc
These women have no sense of self preservation. |

I mean... I dig the whole rehabilitating criminals, but there's a difference between criminals with a Swedish passport and men who are here illegally murdering and raping people. There are plenty of innocent women and children stuck in Turkey and elsewhere that deserve to be here way more; also plenty of migrants/refugees & legal immigrants/expats here that work hard to abide by laws and order.
This trait of actively avoiding conflicts or uncomfortable discussions & situations seems to be a national Swedish pastime. A trait that's rewarded or encouraged until the problem affects a person directly or as we say "it's fine so long as it's not in my backyard." I worked hard to come here and get on my feet and staying in a country this great is a reward - something to strive for. I'm happy to see Denmark is telling Sweden, "You made your bed, now sleep in it," because it's so far out of hand. Where's this "FI" feminist initiative party on this also? As far as I'm concerned they don't deserve a spot in parliament if they're unable to stand up and decry the handling of these rape cases, many of which feature culprits who aren't here legally. Denmark, Norway, Austria...they're all way past admitting the facts and are actively trying to do things like educate new migrants & refugees on how we live and how they need to act in western society. Here it seems we're so far away from even admitting there's a problem much less showing the competencies required to handle it and not encourage it by effectively rewarding the criminal behavior. It's as if these wealthy Swede's handling these cases think "Well I wouldn't want to go to Swedish prison, so that definitely is a harsh punishment" meanwhile they're being laughed at, because you just gave someone a better opportunity than they've ever had back home. "I have a warm bed? Free light beer and organic meals 3x per day? Free psychologist appointments and mental/dental? Free gym and education? I might still be able to stay as well?!" That's not how you deter people from countries that are less fortunate than Sweden from committing violent crimes. I feel bad for every woman in Sweden right now. I hope this country finds it's spine soon, because I'd rather pay taxes to Denmark right now than actively contribute to these kinds of things. . |

Pat Condell sums up Sweden's rape issues rather succinctly here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uws9BlnJmjI

Hello,
What I don't understand about this rape fenomenon in Sweden is that swedish girls are known to be so "easy" you just have to go to a nightclub and pick a girl and you can go to your place or her place and have sex until dawn ![]() |

I guess this is the first time that TheLocal dared to mention that the criminals are from North Africa. I don't think mentioning their origins will help. I'm not pro-migrations (quite the opposite, to be true), but I don't see why pointing out their origins would help solving the issue. The only way to solve this is to let they get the punishments they deserve. They committed crimes, they should be treated as criminals, not "misguiding" people doing wrong things. Same thing go to the ones go to Syria to fight for IS. |

Those people, mostly under-educated and jobless, have no idea to go to bar and pick up girls. They do that by instinct and that's when the things go wrong. |
